I think you can go to any branch and ask them to print it out account history for you and get them stamp. That shouldn't be expensive. Maximum 20$.
If you request statements from the past then they will charge that cos they have to generate it and it takes time.
I worked at TD and we would just print the account history from say 4 years ago and it would be a lot of papers if there were many transactions.

If you can't it like that just put your T4 and maybe records of employment. Do you have your paystubs? I think you can ask get them printed from your HR access website if there is one.
I believe employment is one of the strongest proofs of residence in Canada.

I wouldn't pay more than $20 for your account history. At my branch we would never charge unless it is a lot of papers then we would charge maximum $20 for the chequing account history printout.
I wouldn't bother with credit card statements. It would become very expensive.

Thank you Suin. Finally some voice of reason. Sometimes I think I live in a different dimension reading some threads with people claiming they have to resort to paying for paper statements from a bank and pay for it.

Sometimes I think I live in a different dimension when I see people just posting their useless frustration out on threads. Surprisingly it never occurs to them to think twice that their gibberish makes absolutely no positive contribution to the thread and its better that they remain quiet. I hope people will be courteous enough to not hijack the thread making this thread absolutely useless for OP and others.

Anyways, to the OP, I guess you should be fine with other supporting documents. Send as many statements as you have. That's just my opinion. You are however, advised to contact the helpline and see what they have to say.

the bank printed my statements for FREE. If it is for the government you do not need to pay. Just tell the bank it is for the government verification and they should not charge you any fees.

Just for your reference, banks will not entertain any such request if it is not directly from the government. Do not quote such examples. If they acted on your request then you were lucky since banks do charge $5 CAD per statement in Canada.

Each bank has its own standard and many forum member's have mentioned various options offered by banks in Canada. When you go to a branch, they may print account history on a A4 sheet which will just be transactions, with or without your name, and a bank stamp(If you ask them). It is always better to get official statement as it is more authentic and legitimate instead of a print out of account history.

My Advice:-

- You mentioned you bank at Scotia, I am not sure whether they allow e-statement access up to 7 years like BMO & RBC. If they do, just print the statements on-line and they will be more then enough.

If not then

- Go to your branch, ask them to print your account history and ask them to stamp it and print you a letter on there letter head stating that you have held account with that bank from the date you opened the account. Now they may have a set format for that letter and may give it all of this service to you free of charge.

Good luck
