Hi, I got married to a Canadian after living in Ireland a few years and became a permenant resident of Canada, after 15 months we grew apart and seperated but remained friends, however since i was only in Canada for her I left and went home straight after we seperated, shes been to visit me on a couple occassions as friends as we get along better that way and next week i intend to go visit her for just a week, my question is what can i expect at the airport? My PR card is still valid and the consolite told me just to let the time run out rather than cancel it (i.e I eventually in another years time won't have been in Canada 2/5 years required so the residency won't be valid anymore) should i expect much trouble getting through the airport since i am still a permenant resident but don't live there anymore? Im kina nervouse incase i get turned away or something, we are not divorced and havent thought of going through that process yet, thanks in advance for your answers

If your card is still valid, but it appears you may not meet the residency requirement (730 days in the last 5 years), the Immigration Officer at the POE might counsel you regarding the need to meet your obligation. As long as there is time left during which you could fulfill the obligation, they should not give you a hard time entering the country. There is a lot of flexibility built into PR status to allow persons to meet the obligation and still live abroad if necessary.

Thankyou for your reply, there is 2 years left on my PR card and I only need to be there 9 months of that, however I don't intend living there again I am only looking to visit for a week. Does this change anything for me entering as a PR for just another week?

No, it doesn't change anything.
