Help required regarding Visa

Hi All,

I have applied for PR in July-2014 and would like to apply for a visitor visa to canada now. Is it ok to do so or will it have any adverse affect on the PR if the visitor visa is refused.

Would request senior/experienced members to kindly advise.

Go ahead and apply for the visitor visa. No impact on our PR application if it's refused.

The Visitors Visa is another application entirely and this is processed in your country or the visa office serving your country. The PR application goes straight to CIO in Nova Scotia, where the Positive Eligibility Review is done. Refusal of the Visitor visa has nothing to do with PR applications which specifies 67 points based on specific factors. Regards

Dude, I agree that visa application and PR Canada application procedure is different but I would still advise the other way round. DONT apply for visitor visa, and wait for your FSW application to complete. I personally know many cases where visitor visa was denied with suspicion that applicant might wont return & intends to stay in Canada, basically all countries do make sure that no one stays illegally and beyond visa validity period, and this is the reason when someone is applying for a visitor visa, they do make sure if applicant has enough reason to return back to country. Setting up your PR application which already is submitted clearly indicates your intention of staying in Canada, even if you don't stay- there is no way you can assure your intention to return. So best advise, don't apply for visitor visa and wait for your PR application. It does matter, believe me
