Hi, I am new here.. could someone please advise on the appropriate NOC code for the following job responsibilities? I am torn between database analyst and data scientist.
  • Design and development of an interactive dashboard to report and extract insights and trends from customer data across multiple sources and segments
  • Visualising data and reporting findings for business decisions
  • Assisting in automation of data pipeline processes
  • Using programming for ad-hoc data analyses and mining as per client’s requirements
  • Tools used - SQL, Tableau, Pyspark, MS Excel, Hadoop

Thank you.

What is the title/designation on your salary slips?

Salary slip mentions 'Consultant 2'. that is the title provided by my organisation, which is an MNC. The work we typically do is in data consulting.

Go with NOC codes that have the max overlap. It is best if the NOC code you claim has 70% or more overlapping duties with your role. Remember, IIRC will try to match what your employer has stated as your duties in the employment letter and see if NOC code's description (from the NOC 2021) matches with it.

I would go with a DB analyst. Since you are using SQL and other DB stuff in your job. Use the 70% rule. Copy the JOB duties under both NOC codes and match them with your day-to-day job. Whichever matches 70%, select that as your NOC code.

Thank you. There are other job responsibilities from other projects I have done with the same employer that are a closer fit to db analysts anyway. I was unclear about these particular ones. Your response has certainly helped. Thanks

Hello, Can someone help me in finding the noc code for my duties. I was employed as a business technical analyst at a hardware company and here are my duties:

Build business cases by conducting primary and secondary market research and analysis
through both business and technical lenses.
• Engage in discussions with potential users to identify and document their requirements
• Serve as a key liaison between business and technology team to facilitate effective
communication and collaboration.
• Coordinating closely with the technical teams to ensure that technical solutions align with
business needs and requirements.
• Performing data analysis and interpretation to support decision-making processes and
identify trends or patterns.
• Conducting customer discovery interviews and gathering qualitative and quantitative data to
identify the user pain points.

I think it could be 21221 however it specifically mentions alot about information technology, testing systems, architecture documents which I didnt do.
Please help it is urgent!!
