I would like to secure admission in M.Eng in electrical engineering from a Canadian university.

Previous academic background
BS electrical engineering CGPA 2.45 University of Management and Technology
A levels 2011
O levels 2009

kindly suggest me a couple of universities for January intake with such low gpa
i want course based masters/MEng as it is self funded..so i assume admission will be bit easier than researched based masters

my chances in uni of regina, uni of saskatchewan, uni of winnipeg, uni of manitoba??

Kindly tell me what are my chances of admission in post graduate diploma electrical engineering in University of Saskatchewan?
I am planning to get admission in masters after pgd. Will a pgd increase chances of admission in masters later on?

Thank you.

ielts and funds available to you?

ielts 7.5 (no module less than 7)
funds...i can manage 15k CAD per year

15K per year tuition? Or 15K per year tuition and living expenses? If it's both combined, you aren't going to find a Masters program for that cost in Canada.

ahmad i searched the universities you mentioned unfortunately they require minimum 3.0 cgpa or 70% for graduate programs,,,, you should search different universities with different programs may be some other universities give admission at this criteria as your ielts and funds are fine

Hey, Got your PM... I am posting here so someone else might also add somethng.

So every university has its own way of converting the CGPA. Since you havent mentioned your country I dnt know what could be approx conversion. It is different for each country. Like most unis consider 65-70% of india as their 75-80% in canadian system (for engineering), while chinese 85% is considered around 80. again it varies with different university. Start with referring some standard conversion mentioned on site of Dalhouise university, manitoba, Usask. USASK even have this online conversion tool for most of the reputed unis around the world. (some might need a login id though)

2.45 sounds quite bad for the universities but u may still search for equivalent score.
So firstly get your equivalent cgpa for your country. now to name a few universities that have quite good acceptance rate are u windsor, memorial uni, Dalhousie, Regina... also try carlton, concordia.

USASK have this pre qualification form, and i havent heard any one in my touch getting reply. It is extremly compative... so try for it (as it is free for pre-qualification) but dnt keep high hopes.

Also for Jan there are less seats mostly... make a good sop attach any project/research experience.... and apply early...

Goodluck!

ohhh... most unis ask for A grade...

try unis like windsor... I have heard some1 getting in with 6.3/10 in industrial engg. (no idea abt elect though). but again its all different in different cases... getting 6.5/10 in Indian inst. of technology is considered way betr than getting 8/10 from other unis...

my point is... no one can say where u can get or not... but chances are thin... you may make good sop, keep good college in backup... if u want...
good luck...
