Hi guys

This is my first time in this forum. Hope you can help me in my case. I was nominated under MPNP and sent all my documents to cic on February 24 2013. Now I’m waiting for the medical request from them. My problem is, next month I’m going to marry my girlfriend because of an important matter and my status in my application was single. She told me that she want to stay in our country for the meantime.

Questions are:
What are the requirements just to change my status to single to married?
What can i do regarding this matter?
Does it have any implication to my application?
How many days it will take just to change my status?

Please help. Thank you.

I am in a similar situation, but little complicated. I got married after I received my COPR, but before landing. Ever since I have been chasing around CIC to change my status, but no luck. ECAS says my application is "In Process"

Thanks for the response jetlid. :)
hope you can help me with my question as well.

@frotenacs, hi, are you able to solve your problem? Hope it was.. :)

One tiny question for those who out there who knows what is the best solution for this. Which is much better, if I got married in the middle of my application OR do I need to wait for them to return my passport back with the stamp then that's the time I can marry my girlfriend?

I need your great advice. Thanks a lot.

dreg,
as soon as you know your answer, please let me know also. I think I am in a similar situation. I'm under PNP too, submitted to CIO NS last march 8, 2013. My boyfriend wants to marry me this year but I am afraid it might affect my application. Like you, I want to know the optimal time to get married -- meaning ealiest possible time without affecting my application negatively. Worst case scenario is I wait until I land in Canada, get settled then come back to get married. (that might take 2-3 years. yikes!)

My suggestion is, Marry asap and change the cases asap.
Talk to your PNP officer and ask their advances.
My reason is:
-You just sent your application last month, it may only delay a month if you change it right away.
-If you already over 6 month or more, I suggest you wait the PPR and then get married. Because if may delay at least 6 months.
-If you dont want to marry now and wait for you PR, noramlly you have to wait to marry next year......
I submited mine last March and thought I could be married in October... But until now I am still waiting my PPR, AND I ALREADY WANT TO MARRY SOOOOOOOOOO MUCH...
