Please help. I applied for an extention, I have been here since May. I applied in time but I forgot to send a copy of my proof of entry. The letter doesn't state how long I have to leave the country.
I am currently in the process of getting permanent residence. I have been requested to submit passport to the UK and have done so. I am booked on a flight home out of Canada at the end of Dec. Will this refusal go against my application. I had planned to stay at home while the application was being processed but my husband and I missed each other too much.
What can I do, as I don't want to do anything that could ruin my chances with the PR.
Any advice would be great.

Are you still within the 90 day period to restore?

Hi
Yes still in the 90 days. My visa expired the start of this month. I have no passport to leave the country as I had to send it away to get my PRV. Expecting it back next month.
Thanks for any info.

Well you just have to wait for your passport then, and it seems that you're going to be a PR soon. You can actually request for a restoration of status but seeing you don't have your passport to show when you entered the country, then it would not be any good. You need the same attachments as the application for extension. You bring a copy of your receipt of payment for the extension and the letter of refusal you received from them to the border when you "land" to show you tried to applied but failed to attach the proper documents.

I thought you don't have your passport. How can you go home if you don't have it? Anyway, is the PR visa you're getting for Canadian PR? If you leave the Canada, then you would have complied with the refusal letter (leave at once(?), is it?) Do you need a visa to enter Canada?

Hi,
I am hoping to get my passport back within six weeks which will be mid-next month so I would be able to travel home then. I don't need a visa to enter Canada, at border control they stamped my passport with the date of entry. The PR is for Canada. The letter just states that I was refusot sending a copy of the stamp in my passport. It doesn't tell me how long I have to leave the country or if I have to leave straight away. Thanks

Well you would have complied with the nature of your status (temporary). No need to apply for a restoration when you come back ("land") probably as immigrant.
