hi. this seems to be a solid and active forum. I hope someone can guide me.

I have received my COPR and plan to land in Toronto in a couple of months. I have a valid SNIC and a valid Pk passport.

I am confused whether I need to have a NICOP made if both of the above documents are valid. I looked on the web and couldnt find a reason to have it made.

I called NADRA helpline, and they said that it was required but I could do it from within Canada as well (which means it is not really *required*, right?).

They then created more confusion by saying that I will need a protector stamp to exit the country.

Can someone who has successfully made the journey on COPR basis please guide me about what is required and what is not required

Many thanks

No need of Nicop. Only valid passport is required & no need of protectorate stamp.

Hi ar_fabrics! And thank you for the fast response.

Is this confirmed based on experience? or are you, like me ;D , also trying to interpret the poorly written information available on the govt webpages?

Strange, a person is replying on your query and you in return, no thanking but taunting for poorly interpretation of webpages.

You don,t need any more thing than you already have

Hi Aruma,

I thanked him in my first line. I then asked him if he was trying to interpret badly written webpages.

This is a forum for asking questions, so I will ask questions.

It seems you have comprehension problems, and are unnecessarily being b*tthurt for no reason. <---- btw, that is a taunting response.

Regards and get a life

I don,t have comprehension problem and I am sure about that but it seems you have some attitude problem and credibility issues as well. On asking a question on free forum and then on getting a reply, you want the person to authenticate the answer as well.

BTW how can you believe on an unknown person's advise on a public forum when you still could not believe after calling NADRA and all other concerned authorities? So get some cure you may have curable disease.

Hope you are not offended.

Protectorate is for those who usually leave Pakistan on 'WORK PERMIT' say, if you get J1 for the US, you need protectorate stamp.

You don't need protectorate for PR visa.

Also, having a NICOP made, if you're still in Pakistan, doesn't hurt. Not required though. You can have it made from Canada as well.

Hi Escobar Gaviria! And thank you for your response. That makes sense; asked around and the couple of people who made it when leaving the country were going to Dubai on a work visa.

Hi Aruma, ooga booga blah blah, and good luck; perhaps you can become fully conversant with time and effort.
