Help please ! how Can I get Canadian Dollar to apply ????

HI,

I'm from Algeria, my I want to apply fro quebec univ, I've prepared the required documents but the problem that I don't have a credit card to submit an online application, I went to the bank and they told me that I must have 1500 dollar to open an account and make a credit card, but also they don't have canadian dollar !!!
what are the other payment ways ? for example Can I creat a bank account without credit card and pay them from this account ?
the universities mentiened in their websites that the payment with a credit card is necessary only in case of online application so what can I do friends ? and what about mailing the application with DHL or FEDEX : I mean what will be the method of payment ?

I don't have any idea and there is nobody in my small town who went to study in canada so you friends you are my hope please help me.

iF u having any VISA(ATM) card from ur current bank u can make ur card verified by visa service and after that u can use ur card do anything online.i also do that for concordia university and University of regina it work very well.if this does not work u can allways use net banking and many banks these day have service of making online netcard or virtual cardit card u can use that service as well .

I want to explain more to you : The bank told me to bring 1500 dollar (definetly they meant USD) and a written request explaining why I need a credit card.
then, when they open the account and give me the credit card, they told that I'll find my 1500 usd already there and I can use it.
Now, according to you, I've understood that I can use it to pay an online application without worries about the currency ?? right ?

yes u can use ur currency ...no dougth
and can i know u have any a/c currently in ur country.and have any ATM card.

Demand draft is always an valid option. You can check with university's financial office if they particularly accept that. BTW mostly all universities accept demand draft/ bankers cheque.

I want to say that currently u have any Bank account currently in ur country and they give u any ATM card.

There's nothing to laugh about. This forum is to help others.

In terms of layman's language, Demand draft is like a cheque but in this case money will be withdrawn from banks account whereas in cheque money is withdrawn from payee's account i.e. you.

You will pay money to bank and they will issue you a cheque that can only be cashed by the institution /person/organisation whose name it is made on.

1. Ask particular university you are applying to that if they accept demand draft/bankers cheque.
2. Visit bank and say that you want to make international bank draft in name of university/institution.


Note : If bank draft is not accepted then go for money order.

Do you know anyone who has a credit card and is willing to pay for you? If so, you don't have to worry about the payment issue.
