You don't have much room so you wouldn't want it to be identical! Mentioning the key points is a good idea.

There is no need to attach a separate sheet with Sch 8. Your reference letter attached will suffice. All that you need to do is pick 3 main duties from your reference letter and write it in the relevant column in Sch 8.

This is same in my Case. I applied under software developer NOC 2174 and my manager copied responsibilities from website. He also wrote my NOC code on Job letter. I am working on open work permit.

In actual I do the same stuff what is copied by Manager.
My Manager didnt wrote all of those but still he copied from there and pasted like below:

* To write, modify, integrate and test software code
* To maintain existing computer programs by making modifications as required
* To identify and communicate technical problems, processes and solutions
* To prepare reports, manuals and other documentation on the status, operation and maintenance of software
* To assist in the collection and documentation of user requirements
* To assist in the development of logical and physical specifications

Here are the actual responsibilities on Website:
* Write, modify, integrate and test software code
* Maintain existing computer programs by making modifications as required
* Identify and communicate technical problems, processes and solutions
* Prepare reports, manuals and other documentation on the status, operation and maintenance of software
* Assist in the collection and documentation of user requirements
* Assist in the development of logical and physical specifications
* May lead and co-ordinate teams of computer programmers
* May research and evaluate a variety of software products.

Any suggestions??

Hi,
I have applied for Canadian immigration under CEC in Jan 2013. I received my AOR Mar 2013. In my job reference letter employer just copied all the duties from NOC website. What should I do to void any problem due to this?
I don't know why everybody is telling you that this is a problem and you should worry. In fact, I would suggest the opposite: you should be happy that your employer included duties that closely resemble the NOC with your letter. The rejections due to letters I have seen so far are either because there were no duties, or there were duties but "they did not match" the duties in the NOC description. My letter had the duties copied from the NOC as well (not all of them, but it had most of them and they were an exact copy) and the reason is because that's what my job is. The NOC describes my job. Obviously my manager looked up the NOC corresponding to my job and copied the duties, nothing wrong with that.
I would be very curious to see a rejection letter that people are claiming is due to copying the duties, what does it say: "Duties resemble NOC too much" or "Duties are not very creative". Seriously, I know you are worried and everything, but you should be happy.

Interesting...

A visa officer has neither an obligation to notify an applicant of inadequacies in his or her application nor in the material provided in support of the application. Furthermore, a visa officer has no obligation to seek clarification or additional documentation, or to provide an applicant with an opportunity to address his or her concerns, when the material provided in support of an application is unclear, incomplete or insufficient to convince the officer that the applicant meets all the requirements that stem from the Regulations.

The onus is always on the principal applicant to satisfy the visa officer of all parts of his application. The officer is under no obligation to ask for additional information where the principal applicant's material is insufficient.

elwebmaster,
It would made life easier for many applicants if they were to ask their employers to simply issue a Reference letter copying the NOC description they belong to. It is always required that your duties should match / resemble the NOC description but definitely not a copy paste. Because then, the credibility of the reference letter is questioned. Then the suspicion. And then the decision of the Visa Officer without seeking any additional info from the applicant.

as per my view, Andy is right. An employer should be able to define the duties and resp. for their own job. And if it is defined by the employer it cannot match word-by-word with NOC codes. That said, it may be okay (and up to the VO) and we can argue that my employer find it is matching exactly what the employee is doing hence copied, however it still looks suspicious or biased.
