I'm just filling in forms to sponsor my husband. However I'm a bit confused about the copies of documents (passport, birth certificates, marriage certificate etc.

All our documents are in English, so do we need to send CERTIFIED copies of them, or is certification only necessary for documents that have been translated?

I don't want to make any errors.

Thanks!

You don't have to send certified copies if they are in English. But usually on official papers there is a watermark on the paper copy which shows it was a real official paper. Like when I made a copy of my marriage certificate, you could see COPY COPY COPY written across the back behind the text. I don't know if this is the case for you. But for example, when I sent them a copy of my passport, I just photocopied it and sent it in.

When I had to translate things, I had to get official certification from the translator.

Having a little less to worry about in the situation is going to be a big breather for you when the waiting time comes.
