When applying under CEC program, they say that I have to have at least 1 year of skilled work experience in Canada, in the last 3 years before I apply, but I want to know if they are going to consider the experience I have before these 3 years, or should I consider only the 3 years before I apply. I.e. I had my work permit from jan/15 to jan/18, when I do my profile should I consider since Jan/15 or Jan/16? Cause if I do only since 2015, I loose the points from 1 year, is that correct?
I hope someone can help me, cause I dont find anything on the cic website, saying if I should consider all the years or not. Thanks

When you apply under Express Entry, you have to meet the criteria of a program (e.g. CEC) and the selection criteria under Express Entry - two different sets of criteria.

To meet the one year eligibility criterion of the CEC class, you MUST have at least one year of work experience in the past 3 years.

For your CRS Score under express entry, you can count work experience for the past 10 years, and gain points for up to 5 years of Canadian experience.

So, yes, you can include your older experience for points, as long as you also meet the CEC criteria.

Thanks, for your help! I was in doubt cause I went to a lawyer and he told me that only the previous 3 years from the date that I´m applying would count as experience and not anymore the years before, then I would lose points for one year work experience what doesn´t make sense for me. I got my ITa today under CEC and I´m going to apply using my older experience.
Thanks again! :)
