Hi, I filled sponsorship application for my parents in year 2008, they have not become permanent resident of Canada yet.
My parents just got divorce recently, I want to change my mother as a separated principle applicant and at the same time withdrawal sponsorship of my father.
I understand change will cause delay, is anyone can advise what is the best way to handle this situation?

If your father was the principal applicant, you may find that you can't without cancelling the complete application. I seem to remember a similar case where the principal applicant died. Maybe someone on here knows better?

No, it IS possible to have the mother changed to Principal Applicant from dependent. I had read it somewhere on CIC bulletin. Will dig it up and post it...

Excellent... Always glad to learn.

See the link below... (However, it mentions PA can be replaced when the original PA passes away) Not sure if this would apply to divorced parents - no reason why it should not...
