Hi! Im a Filipina married to a Canadian citizen residing in Quebec. And we have few questions regarding the spousal sponsorship. And just to clarify my husband is staying here in the Philippines until coronavirus is controllable.

1. We are thinking to process our papers while he is still here with me. So we will answer the forms, collect all additional documents needed, then we will send it to his mom in Canada so she can send our application on his behalf. Is that okay? Or it has to be my husband?

2. Unfortunately, there is another application for sponsors living in Quebec. When should we apply that? After IRCC or we can apply it first?

3. During the application is there a time that my husband's physical appearance is required? Cause obviously he can't go cause he is in another country.

I hope someone could answer us. Thank you in advance.

Hi,

Disclaimer as I'm not familiar with the outland procedure (mine was inland). But with #1), I would assume it's okay although there may be some requirements for your husband to be in Canada for x amount of time within the past year (really not sure about this, though).

Good luck - my wife who I'm sponsoring is also Filipina from Bicol.
