Help: Online App, received request to send passport, approved?

Hi all,

I applied online on May 12, I just received an email / message (May 17) to my CIC account to send my passport. In the pdf message there is no 'approved' or 'rejected' answer, does it mean that my visa is approved or could be rejection? Do they need to stamp my passport for rejection also?

Wow, that's really quick! My pdf says:

This is in reference to your application for temporary residence. A decision has been made on your application. We
require your passport to finalize processing your application.

Really? I was surprised too to received the email, thought it might take two weeks, but someone told me the person's father got request passport email in 4 days.
I got exactly the same message.
How long was it for you to get your request passport email? and after sending it how long did you get it back? Did they stamp your visa/approved?

True. It would cost some too as I live in Malaysia and have to send it to Singapore. Haven't done it yet though.

I applied in Sydney, Australia and got the approval letter in 24 hours. I got exactly the same letter and my passport was stamped too in 3 days. I have just come back from canada in the last few days.

If you include all the documents and its a decision ready file, it doesn't take too long. They request the passport and verify it once before stamping it.

June, as long as there is nothng wrong with your passport - the visa should be stamped and u will have the passport back soon.

I'm still waiting for mine (Malaysian passport holder, processed by Singapore):

Online app submitted: May 16
Passport request: May 21
Passport delivered to High Commission: May 27

Still waiting for news now. Getting very anxious as I need my passport by June 8. Did they send you an email when your passport has been stamped and was leaving their office? Any other comments from experience with experience with Singapore office would also be much appreciated!

This is my timeline:
Applied online : 12 May
Passport request : 17 May
Passport delivered (SIngapore) : 23 May
Passport return method request : 27 May
Passport return method reply (I checked my email 2 days late) : 29 May

I am still waiting for my passport back, based on the email they sent on May 27, I should receive it 10 days after they send it to me, but I haven't received any email about when did they send the passport from Singapore office. Makes me wonder, will they send me tracking number?

as what robbiefernando posted, i applied online on June6th for TRV and on June 7th when i wake up, the request of original passport is in my CIC. i am chinese citizen and currently working in philippines. i dont know if this is good or not even. it sounds bit too good to be true and it just happened. i am going to send in my passport to the Manila embassy since both of my selection of my current residence and apply location are philippines.

just hope they dont ask you to send in the passport for rejection stamps...that will be interesting.

my application is simple.. single entry tourist visa..staying around a month..

Canadian citizen invitation letter provided, my friend will cover my expense while i am in canada.
my company employment letter ( what company might matter )and past 6 months of pay slips and 3 months of bank statement. not rich though.
my travel history most majorly in S.E Asia

I don't really get what you asked, I applied online, and when I filled in the application form, I gave them information about my nationality and the country I reside now, that determined where to send the passport. I am an Indonesian but reside in Malaysia, should send the passport to the country we are based on (if/after receive request to send passport), but since the Malaysian office is closed last year (if I am not mistaken), I sent it to Singaporean office
