Hi Seniors,

Please help in understanding TRP to take decision on my stay in Canada. Actually I got my CEC approved and VISA stamped ( Landing deadline is in Sep 2015), but my wife is 2 month pregnant now and baby due in Aug. For sure we are going to land in April this year, which is safe time for her to travel. But we are not sure on whether to continue in Canada or come back and have baby in India as we get family support in India. I heard that if we have baby in India later we need to face lot of process to get our new born kid to Canada, there could be high risk of me staying away from family till we get our child sponsored.Only other option is TRP, but I didn't get much info about TRP, can any one please guide me on that?

What is the success rate of TRP? how long it will be valid for?

Thanks in advance

I really don't understand your question or problem. anyways this is what a TRP means

TRP (Temporary Resident Permit):

TRP is an option for those who are inadmissible to canada, Means they are not allowed to enter in Canada for reasons like crime or they are dangerous to health or they are safety risks to Canadian society and still they need to travel to canada for some reason he can apply for TRP.

So i am sure TRP is not an option for you or your new born child. Are you confusing TRV with TRP ?
TRV is Temporary resident Visa. any person who wants to travel to canada for a short duration generally uses this options (e.g a tourist, family visit etc).

Your case is Simple and you have the following options:-

1) land in canada with your wife, Have your baby in canada (baby will be Canadian citizen). So after this no matter you choose to live in canada or india you will have no problems.

2) land in canada with your wife, go back to india, have baby in india. in this case you have to live in canada and your wife will stay in india and you can sponsor your child. in this option you can also apply TRV (a visit visa) for your child and take him to canada ( if visa approved) and apply for an Inland sponsorship. this option is definitely a long process. if you apply inland sponsorship and your child is in canada on a visit visa, the child can stay in canada till he gets the PR.

3) return you PR visa, have a baby in canada and re-apply for immigration again to canada.

Option 1 is best for you.

hope it helps.

Hi

There isn't really any posted stats about TRP approval rates. There have been many PRs on this forum who have successfully applied for TRPs for their foreign-born children. If approved, I believe the TRP is valid for a few months. Once in Canada, you will need to maintain the child's visitor status while the sponsorship application processes.

In terms of the immigration process, having the baby in Canada will be the easiest option, as your child will be Canadian.

Yes, it is. Children of PRs can be declared inadmissible as visitors because they are accompanying their parents to live in Canada and therefore are not genuine visitors. In this situation, a TRV is unlikely to be approved but a TRP has a good chance of being approved.

Dependent children cannot be sponsored inland.
