SOP is the written statement that describes yourself, your future plan after your study. It is not mandatory because there is no written SOP as required document in document list in CIC website.

SOP is only way to convince visa officer about your plan. If you have backlogs, then SOP can clarify that why u have such backlogs.

However, you already submitted , so hope for positive result.
