You're in a touch sitation. She could come and once she is here you would have to live together and then apply for PR as common law, or you could get married and apply for PR right away.

When she is here she would not be able to work or go to school for any course longer than 6 months.

ALso she could keep going back and forth but if CBSA or CIC think she is living here they could tell her to leave.

Well, yes you can apply for PR as a visitor. But she has to have a reason to apply for PR. Being your girlfriend and wanting to try out living together isn't a reason.

She would either need to qualify for PR on her own (and as an `entertainer` that is unlikely) (%/%"% my cat walked on my keyboard and screwed up the language settings again.... joy!) or you can sponsor her once she qualifies as a member of Family Class.

Family Class as 3 options for you:
- Get married and sponsor her as your spouse
- Have her live as a visitor in Canada for one year (you would have to extend her stay). After one year, you can apply as Common-Law Spouse
- Live together for 12 months in any combination in Canada and Mexico. Then apply as Common-Law. It doesn`t matter how much time you spend in Canada or Mexico as long as you are together (with the exception of short breaks, think 1-2 weeks).

Depending on her interests, skills, and funds available to her, she can also look into options to work or study in Canada. (Study is expensive, that`s why I said funds.)

If she possess a professional degree, she can also look into NAFTA work visas.

It takes a little more than someone willing to give her a job. The employer has to get permission to hire a foreign worker. In order to get that permission, the employer has to advertize the job for a minimum of two weeks and prove there were no suitable Canadians for the job. (For some jobs, this is practically impossible as there are plenty of Canadians available for the job.) The employer applies for a LMO (Labour Market Opinion). If the LMO is positive, the employer then enters a labour contract with the worker and the worker can apply for a work permit. Since your GF is Mexican, she will have to apply to Mexico City VO. (She can try applying at the US border - Port of Entry method, but increasingly those workers are being directed to return to their home country and apply from outside Canada.) She cannot apply Inside Canada to Vegreville.

I would talk to your uncles and see if either is interested. If one of them already hires foreign workers, that may be the best choice.

Also, keep in mind, your gf will need to show she has the skills needed for the job. If she applies for a job with job requirements that she doesn`t have, her work permit will be denied.

Once she`s approved for a work permit, then she can work. A TRV will be issued with the work permit. Then after 1 year, you could apply as common-law or depending on her job, she can apply independantly through PNP or CEC. I personally recommend CEC or PNP if possible. Both options give her extended work permit options, don`t have any conditional PR status, and don`t rely on your relationship (which you must prove is genuine) to get PR.

I think there is a problem with the system. I was watching the news recently how foreign workers are working at Tim Hortons, Gas stations, grocery stores. I mean how is that even possible? These are minimum wage jobs with no education required. I mean whats stopping employers from posting a job for 2 weeks or 4 weeks, Canadians applying for it, employers reject all Canadian candidates saying that they are over qualified or under qualified and then applying for LMO for foreign worker.

Is this how foreign workers getting these jobs while majority of Canadians are unemployed. This comes in the wake of the RBC scandal about Canadians loosing jobs to foreign workers.

I have no idea and think it`s very wrong, but that`s a different post ;)
