Help needed to call parents to Canada on visitors visa

Hello friends I want to invite my parents to Canada on a visitors visa.I just wanted to know how much money we need to show in our account to sponsor them.We have some money in Us bank account can we show those statements to support them in addition to the money in Canadian bank b account. Would be grateful for your help and support.

Depends on how long they plan to stay. Also you have to remember your parents have to show they have some assets/money as well, you can't just simply show everything on your side, otherwise they will be refused due to lack of funds

Thank you very much.We will sure do,we want them to stay for 6 months,do I mention that long stay like putting in the letter that they will visit and stay with me from November 2014 till April 2015.Or shall i put for less months and they give a visitors visa for 6 months .

You should ask for less time. 6 months is a very long time to ask for, and you also have to prove they have enough money to last them for 6 months. Better to ask for less time, so you only need to show less funds and your chances of approval are higher.

My wife asked for 3 weeks, but she got a multiple visa.
