i have done bachelor's degree (b.tech in electronics and communication)

since the PG diplomas available in all the colleges are only of one year, that mean i will get only one year work permit after completion of my course. :(

but i wanted to study for 2 years and get 3 year work permit, so that i have enough time to settle down/get a job.

which isn't possible if i go for PG diploma of a year and then get one year work permit(hard to find job that could lead to PR in a one year of work permit)

so

however i have talked to a consultant in chandigarh, who says that "" on completion of one year diploma, there is two options for a student, either decide to study further that is take another one year course OR take the work permit,

since the work permit is issued only once in a life time , a student on finishing one year PG diploma, should not go for it at end of one year PG diploma and should choose to further continue study, hence completing two courses of one year each (hence net total studying period = 2years), then student will get a 3 year work permit as all other students doing two year diplomas get.

is that true???
has any body done/heard of this??

please aware me bros, want to get enrolled for sept session if this thing, what consultant is saying is legit .

thanks

Make an application soon with your provisional certificate and available mark lists. with the acceptance letter you will have to approach a bank for student loan if you are applying under SPP. it's getting late for fall session.(don't know if its already late). after that you need to apply for visa.(if late, don't worry, there is Jan intake coming up and only 3 months delay, but don't know whether this course have a start session in jan). anyway make it fast.. letz hope to meet soon.. :)

Yes, the consultant is right here. Even if you come back to you home country after completing 1 years studies and then go back to Canada for another 1 year course (completing within 2 years of the fist course) even then you are eligible to get PGWP of 3 years.

Quote: "Students holding a one-year graduate degree from a provincially accredited post-secondary educational institution in Canada (pursued full-time) after having obtained, within the prior two years, a degree or diploma from an accredited post-secondary educational/training institution will qualify for a three year work permit. This exception also applies to students who have left Canada temporarily between the graduations."

Hope this answer your query.

Hi all, this is my first post in this forum.

Regarding this PG program of Fleming, by chances I am intending to apply for this Fall 2013. I just want to know if AJITH87 or love3101 has joined the program already. If so, then how is the stuyding there? and your experiences about Fleming Student life.

Thanks in advance.

1. Did you noticed the word 'One year graduate degree'? It has to be a minimum one year degree + one year degree or diploma.
