Hello,

On saturday I received my AOR email containing my UCI and application number then yesterday I received the following email.

I have already linked my application to myCIC account previously. I have highlighted in red the part that is worrying me. Will that cause any problem that I have already linked my application before receiving AOR?

"Dear XXXXXXX:

To continue processing your application, you must link your application to an online account.

To link your application to your online account:

Search for “link my application” on Canada.ca and follow the instructions.
Link your application within seven calendar days from the day you receive this letter for faster processing times.

After you create your online account, you will:

get instructions to send us other documents we need
see real-time information about your application status
receive messages from us in your online account

When your application is linked to your account, you will no longer receive messages from us by mail.

If you choose not to link your application:

It could take us longer to process your application.
We will continue communicating with you or your representative by email or regular mail.

We thank you for your cooperation.

Which part is highlighted in red? I don't any issues with the above, they want to move communications to GCKey and you will start getting messages through it and you will respond through it too.

They will stop sending you direct emails however GCKey will send you a notification whenever there is a message for you under it.

All express entry is done fully under GCKey, you should not be worried about anything.

If you have already linked it, it should be OK.

I didn't receive that type of mail and does not link my application for my online account.

Is it compulsory for every one.

No it is not. It is if you get it. I believe it is dependent on the "local" visa office which is processing the applications. It might also be a direction within CIC to migrate the communication from email to GCKey.

Good evening guys,

I received exactly the same message on April 12/2017. I applied under Provincial Nominee Program(paper based) on February 27/2017.The only concern is i tried almost 10 times linking my application but i couldn't do link it. Please let me know if you linked your file online.

Regards,
ghanta.
