Hi there,

thanks for your response guys!

this is my case:

My first employer NOC 2281 category (june 8, 2012 - june 30, 2013), I just checked and i have worked for 1827 hours for 55 Weeks. My salary was 13$ per hour. so $13 * 1827 hours= $23751

However, on my reference letter it states that i worked for 40 hours per week with my annual salary of $27,456. Will that be a issue?

I have worked fulltime (above 30 hours) for 46 weeks at this position as the other nine months are belows 30 hours. However, i complete the required hours 1560 and worked more than 12 months.

Also, I am currently employed, so my second employer NOC 2282 category (July 1, 2013 - present), i have worked for 210 hours for like 6 weeks.

So 46 weeks from first job and 6 weeks from second job, makes it 52 weeks.

I have all my pay slips, T4, NOA, reference letter from both the jobs.

My question is, should i change the hours and my annual salary on my first reference letter? for eg: should i make it as that i worked fulltime with an average of 37.5 hours per week and had $25350 salary. So thats like 37.5 hours * 52 weeks * $13 per hour = $25,350.

(Getting a letter again is a little difficult Sad )
Do you think it can be a big issue?

Awaiting your reply.

thanks!

I guess ur good to go. gather all ur paystubs from the scratch and apply immediately. make sure u get reference letters from all employers and get another letter to replace the previous one. let ur employer mention that u worked variable hours or u worked average of 40hrs per week or 37.5. if he refuse to provide another letter, u can attach a written explanation to cic telling them that u worked variable hours. I am pretty sure that it wont be a problem. have a great day and all the best :)

You have previously demonstrated you have met the 1 year full-time equivalent requirement. Your problem is the documentation from the first job.

1. First, let's clear up the fact that "salary" and "hourly wages" are completely different compensation arrangements. If you are salaried, you get paid a set amount per pay period regardless of how many hours you work (subject to contract terms and usually a minimum number of hours). If you are paid hourly, your earnings will vary by the number of hours worked. So which is it - are you paid on a salary basis, or an hourly basis? It sounds like you are paid hourly, so the term "salary" really shouldn't be used.

2. Second - the VO will have your Letter of Employment and your T4, and will be able to compare the information. So you began working on June 8, 2012. (Friday, really?). That means you would have worked for 29 weeks in 2012. According to the details in your Letter of Employment, your T4 for 2012 should show about $22,455 (29 weeks * 40 hours per week * $13 per hour). (Doesn't have to be perfect, but should be pretty close). What does your T4 show?

Hi Jes,
I have been paid on hourly basis. so what should i mention on my letter?

On my T4 it is 13,800. So i am calculating as 29 * 37.5 * $13 per hour = $14,137

I am actually going to send an email to my manager and she wants me to make the changes and send it to her so she can print the letter.

Thanks for your help!

I would say that is pretty close. I would suggest 36 hours per week ...

"Mr X earns $13 per hour (plus ... any benefits)? As a full-time employee, he works an average of 36 hours per week. His estimated annual earnings are $24,336."
