Hi Y'all,

I read some of the topics and replies. I'm amazed at all the great knowledge sharing that is happening here..Its a fantastic forum... So, I decided to post here asking for help... Its a long post - but I am so totally freaking right now..

I applied for permanent immigration from India in Jan 2004 and now.. Yesterday, to be specific, I got an email from the CHC saying that my file is under review and I need to submit the following docs.. and honestly, I am terrified that I'm going to goof this up.. So any help you can provide is greatly appreciated..

Some of the things they want is :
Proof of Experience: original, updated experience and/or employment letters which clearly describe your job duties for all occupations in which you wish to be assessed. Your employer should provide specific, work-related examples of these duties. Whats the best way to go about this? I can ask my employer for the experience letter.. but I am trying to understand what it should have -

Relative in Canada: provide certified copies of educational documents which show parents’ names, birth certificates, passports, etc. that prove your relationship with your relative in Canada - Does this mean as long the document has my parents name it is good enough - does it need to show my sister's name too? I cant think of a document that could have that..

Language Skills: IELTS.. I read in one of the topics that said - don't even try submitting a written explanation and supporting documentation as they dont consider it.. and that IELTS is the way to go.. How difficult is the IELTS? any other way to get around this?

Police Clearance Certificate: provide a police clearance certificate or clearance or record of no information indicating any record or the absence of a criminal record for yourself. Do I need to submit this from Bangalore police or Mumbai police – since I have been living in Bangalore for 3 yrs now.

Proof of Funds: Its going to be just me migrating there.. and they want me to show $10601!!! Is that correct? What do they need from me - Bank statements? Will that do? originals I guess, huh?

I am no expert in immigration issues, but here's what I think.

1. You should get letters from all the employers you've had in past years.
2. I don't know which documents would be best for this part.
3. IELTS is not too difficult. If you speak English, you shouldn't have a problem. However, you should check for a test date, as sometimes one has to wait for a few weeks before a date is available.
4. You need to provide Police Certificates from every city where you have lived since the age of 18 So, you would need cirtificates from both, Mumbai and Bangalore.
5. Bank statements and letters from the banks certifying the amount of money that you have, Keep in mind that is's $10,601 CAD.

You'll be able to find more detail in this website.

The letter should state, how long you have worked there, the salary and all duties that you job entails, you should read the NOC http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/noc-CNP/app/index.aspx?lc=e for the job category in which you applied to find out what duties are required.

Relative in Canada: provide certified copies of educational documents which show parents' names, birth certificates, passports, etc. that prove your relationship with your relative in Canada - Does this mean as long the document has my parents name it is good enough - does it need to show my sister's name too? Who is the relative in Canada? Your sister? If so you need your birth certificate showing the parents name and your sister's birth certificate with the same names. You will also need a copy of her citizenship card/PR card and proof in the form of bills or receipts to prove that she is living in Canada. If it is another relative then you will have to work it out which birth certificates that you will require.

Language Skills: IELTS.. I read in one of the topics that said - don't even try submitting a written explanation and supporting documentation as they dont consider it.. and that IELTS is the way to go.. How difficult is the IELTS? any other way to get around this?

You better practise, they want the IELTS so you are going to have to take it.

Police Clearance Certificate: provide a police clearance certificate or clearance or record of no information indicating any record or the absence of a criminal record for yourself. Do I need to submit this from Bangalore police or Mumbai police – since I have been living in Bangalore for 3 yrs now.

Either or, here are the instructions to follow: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/asia-pacific/india.asp

Proof of Funds: Its going to be just me migrating there.. and they want me to show $10601!!! Is that correct? What do they need from me - Bank statements? Will that do? originals I guess, huh?
Original Bank statements in a convertible currency.
