HELP ME TO CHOOSE A JOB TITLE

Hi, I am going to apply CEC under NOC Code 1111. Owner can help me with any job title I wish. The company is import and export business and about 4 people now. I have bachelor of accounting and finance from Lincoln university in new zealand. By the way, I have new zealand passport. Which job title should I use, accountant or assistant controller? My salary now is about $40,000.

You better focus on Your duties, and based on that You'll find your NOC code... Just be aware of this fact in NOC 1111 description: "Financial auditors and accountants are employed by auditing and accounting firms throughout the private and public sectors, or they may be self-employed." Not sure sure if You can use that NOC code in company that does just import/export..

Actually, I feel 1111 is supposed to be for consulting accountants in large accounting firms, managing the accounts of several clients. Your employer has 4 employees you said? I understand you do the "accounting" for your employer and that you have a degree in Accounting, but this does not make you an "Accountant" in terms of occupation.

If you are the head financial person in your company, answering only to the owner of the business, the Canadian term for that occupation is "Controller". Given this, and your low salary, you are most likely under 1311 - Accounting Technicians and Bookkeepers.

they don't consider salary when they determine eligibility under CEC.. Hope it helps.

What other job title can I use under CEC? I know bookkeeper cannot apply CEC anymore. Can I use assistant controller? thanks

Controller can be okay too if you prove your qualified and do similar duties... dont worry about the pay $40 k is good enough

Firstly you should post your duties here without which, it is hard to tell.

Secondly, for assistant/controller, one of the daily function is assisting controller management in supervising the accounting dept, which does not seem to be in your case.
