HELP! IRCC is killing me :(

Hi everyone,

Really need you guys help...

So I renewed my passport before applying for PGWP so that I can get the full 3 year length on my passport.
I applied for PGWP with the new passport and everything, successfully got the PGWP.
BUT the work permit has my old passport number.....

I called IRCC three months ago and they said they filed for urgent request for reconsideration to fix this but no idea when it will be fixed....

SO NOW IM IN A DELIMA: How can I get a visa on my passport to travel outside of Canada???? My old passport with the work permit has a hole punched through and said its cancelled, but the new passport number doesn't match the work permit.....

My options:
1. Wait for IRCC reconsideration, get me a new WP with the correct passport number
2. Apply for a new PGWP and include a letter to explain (hopefully they read the letter)
3. Apply for a Visa and mail in both passport (not sure if they can stamp on an old passport)
4. Go to the boarder, flagpole (I tried last time at Bluewater Bridge, Michigan one, The border told me they don't do immigration..... maybe I should've stated that I want to go into the office??)

You'll need a visitor visa to enter Canada again. You must apply for the visitor visa with your new passport.

In regards to your PGWP, I would go with option 2. Apply again (and pay the fees), and attach a letter explaining the whole situation. It's probably the easiest way. You'll have to wait for your new/corrected PGWP to be approved and sent to you before travelling outside of Canada.
