Help - IRCC asking for a Biometric for WP extension

I applied for my work permit extension under a protected person. & I submitted my PR application too in May 2023.

I received the latter for biometrics under my WP extension. Is this normal? Because I haven't seen anybody here talking about this.

Also, another problem is during the WP extension process. I submitted my passport scan copy, and in biometrics, they are asking to bring a passport or refugee travel document. So is it ok to bring my refugee claimant ID with passport copies for biometric?

Yes, it is normal... there is a biometric for temporary permits ( study permit, work permit .. etc) and one for Permanent permits ( refugee, PR, citizenship ). How long did take for them to request the biometric after you applied for Extension ?

Hello… so did you do your biometrics already i am in same situation. Did they accept passport phoyocopy With Refugee claimant ID for biometrics. Urgent!!!

I’ve applied for pr in May, 2023.
My work permit was going to expire in July 16th, 2024.
I’ve applied for wp extension in April 22nd, 2024 and got approved. Received physical one too.
They did not ask for biometric or any other information.
