Many indians are getting visa but due to job issue many of them never land in canada. I urge everyone who is working in canada to help other aspirants in getting job offer. Please share your mail id so that other aspirants can send profile for internal openings.

You disgust me for posting this. It is small minded. Why only Indians? Why can't everyone help each other? You should stop this mentality of racial groups helping each other. This creates dislike and suspicion in Canada, understandably. Give the job to the best person, not because of his race.

I think the issue here is that you need to know the person before you even think of recommending them.
If the whole process turns bad, then you will be the one that people (in your place of employment) will look at?

I could not in all honesty recommend anyone without a lot of personal knowledge of who they are and what they can do.

No need to get worked up so much buddy. I am British of Dutch origin... and for me if I need to network I'd find out more information on threads like this but will approach people in UK or who have travelled from UK. This is not racism, it is called "comfort factor". So chill and let people network as they feel comfortable.

to be honest i laugh on these comments. if this world is full of angels only then you will find a person who offer any help regarding job. i don't want to be mean or sound negative but throughout my life i have never ever found a single person who ever helped me getting a job. i was humiliated, ignored and pushed away. there is no kind employer in this world. they will suck your blood to pay you any money. you always have to fight to get a job and prove to your emloyer that without you he can't survive.

so i think we all should look at reality and don't expect from each other the things which are not possible in real world.

i wish everyone luck .

I wonder if anyone here can get a job offer for anyone. I have not come across anyone here in this forum who landed more than a year back. We all are new here and are trying to find ourselves in this new environment/country and would not be in a position to assist anyone to more than guidance. I dont want to undermine guidance cause it is pretty useful. When someone think of job in Canada expect competetion. Work hard for it and if someone feels that he/ she has potential he/ she is going to succeed. Stay positive and be prepared to fight hard. Success do not only come by "help" one can also fight for it. People coming here on points system has an advantage over others. They are well qualified, good cummunication skills, good work experience and due to it have scope of landing up with good job.

This is RACIST!, this is Immoral, let us get the jobs through our own abilities
not because we're "indians", by the way, are we all not future Canadians?, if we want to
be "Indians" - why go through all this effort to immigrate? stay in India indians, come to Canada,
Canadians

Not necessarily my dear friend.
All my life I've come accross many (many) ppl who went out-of-their-way to help/assist me. All my work/s came thru networking & vide Management Consultants. All my employers were amazingly good & wise souls - in fact I'm yet in contact with most of them. Couple of my ex-Bosses r also my closest friends today.

Besides, I have found most of my friends/peers talking similar experiences. To the extent that I also had my co-seated passenger, on a recent flight to Canada, narrating similar sentiments. He was an *Australian-Canadian, Director of a famed company here; and since then we have met twice at each other's homes as well.

This world is a superbly wonderful place. And we have just one chance/attempt at it. With a very slight effort we can see the beauty of it, always. Mostly things r good here... most ppl r nice.. just that "slight effort' is needed to recognize that - from my end.

Within all the adversities we also had a Mahatma Gandhi, a Nelson Mandela, Mother Teresa, Dr. Martin Luther King and quite a few others...

And we cannot forego that "chance", can we?

Have a blessed day Brother!

*This proves that ppl here have the same attitude too.

boss may be you are the lucky one but i am not and not everybody is mahatma ghandi or nelson mandela. i have spoken the truth and to look for a job is the most difficult thing in this world.and to tell you the truth i don't rely on anyone to help me find a job but on myself that i should find myself and i am good enough for this job.

in practical way specially when someone has posted on this forum that indians or watever should help other indians i think of a least chance that somebody is gonna come up and tell you of the job openings.

only an angel can help you through this forum he will help you find a job not human i suppose.

Re: Help aspirants in getting job through referral

I apologize if I hurt someone by starting this thread. I agree with RickB that this is about "Comfort" factor not about racism. You will first approach a person who you think is more approachable and understands the situation empathetically. Decision of moving to canada is not same for every person on this globe but for many people it can be a nightmare which other people might not understand.

I start this thread without having any seed of provoking racism in mind but to help people who are having same origin and same mindset. That's why indian people who became canadians can understand situation of future aspirants from India.

And, why to boil up so much? Do anyone think this would fetch job for someonoe. Just relax. Over possessiveness is injurious to health. ;)

hi,

I got a job offer from Canada from US and moving to Edmonton next week. I went there for a face to face interview though with this company before they offered me. After my experience i believe its not impossible to get jobs while outside canada. I am currently a licensed civil engineer in US and will be working on more challenging projects in Canada. I saw more jobs for Civil engineering in Canada than US seriously. Mayb due to the oil and gas sector in Alberta. If anyone in civil engineering i would be more than happy to give them information or leads when i come across any. I would suggest everyone to start networking with the technical recruiters even though you are not in canada. Its not wrong to search jobs from outside but i think its kinda risky to give fake canadian address on resume as they might call to meet them in a day or two and then it would not look good to giving them excuses.

For civil engineering specially someone should not really get stressed over this " Canadian Experience". All your education and experience will be worth. As i already stated before, Engineering principles and theories remains same no matter what. Only one needs to increase his qualifications through certifications and licenses as these are regulated professions. And you dont get these certifications and licenses from any institutes, you get it while u working on a job and then applying to licensing boards.
