Hi All
My husband takes thyroid medication daily, and we forgot to pack it while coming to Canada (Calgary).
It has been a week, and he has already started feeling symptoms like fatigue.
It is going to take some time for us to get the medical card.
Is anyone coming over to Canada (from India), get a small box (30 days) of medicine?
Thank you in advance!

You can go to a walk in clinic in Canada without a health card to get medication. You will just have to pay for the visit.

just go and pay. if you have a prescription from his former doc you can present that. you should not stop thyroid medication

Just clarifying that you can present the old prescription to the Canadian doctor not the pharmacy. Thyroid medication will require a prescription in Canada from a Canadian doctor.

agreed, my point is more stopping thyroid medication is a VERY bad idea and definitely wouldn't have waited a week to find alternative solutions

Don’t disagree. Many are unaware that they’ll need a prescription from a Canadian doctor to get Rx medication. They can’t just show the prescription from their foreign doctor. Just wanted to clarify that you were saying show the prescription to the Canadian doctor not to a pharmacist.
