Help, immigration said we did not include the FBl form. We are sure we did. Also, we need to get UK police checks for my husband's 2 sons who are dependents but not coming with him. That was an error on our part. Question...once we send in the additional police checks will our file go to the bottom of the pile or will our agent carry on with our application once he receives the additional police checks. Can anyone ease my worry?

Did you keep a copy for yourself? It won't be valid to send to them, but it will be proof you got one and submitted it. In the meanwhile, send away for another one, don't waste time arguing with them if they have lost it.

An application in process and waiting for requested documents does not go back to the bottom of the pile. Processing picks up again from where they left off.

Thanks for your reply and I am sure we will have to do that, but our first FBl check took 7 weeks to get, and immigration said they need to hear from us within 2 months. Or, can we contact the FBl and they will just resubmit one to us without reinvestigating?

After you've sent off for the new FBI check, reply to London with proof (copy of the airwaybill should do it) and advise them of the minimum time and ask for an extension. Usually they are agreeable to giving one if they have some indication you are endeavouring to fulfill the request.

And if you made a copy of your application, send a copy of the original certificate with your proof of the new requests.

Yes, we copied everything. It is still very disappointing that we have to wait another 8 weeks at the very least.

I know, but it is amazing how many times they lose stuff. Buffalo, in my opinion, is the worst for losing documents, but happens elsewhere too.
