I am looking forward to pursue PGDM course (16 Months) from Alliance University, and would like to make sure if it is recognized by WES. Did anyone pursue the course from the university and successfully had it evaluated as Masters in Canada Education Equivalency?

Also, did anyone get it approved for a course less than 2 years as masters?

Hello friends!

I am new to this group. I need your help and suggestion on my WES application.

I have recently completed Post Graduate Executive Management Program (PGEMP) from SPJIMR. This course is like distance MBA spanning over 21 months. It is accredited by Association of MBAs (AMBA), UK.

I m planning to send it for credential evaluation but suddenly came across this thread and decided to ask expert opinions before investing money.

So, please let me know is this course being recognised by WES?

hi, Can someone kindly advise. I have a bachelor in pharmacy degree bachelors. I also have a masters degree in management I have ECA for only my masters degree. I practiced in the past as a licensed pharmacist at hospitals. However, More recently,I also have had work experience of 5+ years in a pharma company not requiring a pharmacy license hence I didn’t verify degree with pebc. As primary occupation is with Pharma company. Question : When completing my work history, do I need to fill work as a pharmacist at hospitals prior and noc in addition to primary noc and work history... Urgent response pls. Thank you.

Hi All,

I want to share how this thread helped me revise my WES evaluation for 2 year PGDM (mostly in IIMs, XLRI, XIMB etc.) from non recognized to Master's degree.

1. I obtained only the transcripts from my college (XIMB) and sent along with my graduation transcripts to WES on 30th March.
2. On 3rd May, 2018 I received my WES evaluation stating my graduation is recognized as 4 years equivalent to Canadian Bachelors but my PGDM is not recognized.
3. I came across this thread on 3rd May and immediately reached out to XIMB to send me the AICTE and AIU approvals for the years of study applicable to me along with a cover letter stating that the institute and the PGDM program is well recognized by AICTE and AIU.
4. On 7th May, I received through courier the documents from my college and the same day I raised a request for re-evaluation in the Contact Us section of WES and also couriered the documents to WES Canada.
5. No response from 7th May till 14th May, only update from my DHL courier was that the documents were received by WES on 9th May.
6. On 16th May, i.e. yesterday, WES replied "Your WES evaluation report will be reviewed. If it contains any errors, we will make the appropriate changes and reissue your evaluation report to you and any recipients. If we are unable to make the changes you are requesting we will notify you in writing."
7. On 17th May, I got another mail " We have reviewed and updated your evaluation report. A revised evaluation report will be issued to you and any recipients you had requested. We apologize for any inconvenience caused." and I also got my PGDM assessed as Masters.
8. All thanks to the people on this group who had shared their experience which helped me expedite and get my re-evaluation done faster.

I am facing the same ordeal. My Master of Business Administration (three year PG degree) is evaluated as Bachelor's Degree (four years).

I am aware that WES recognizes three year MBA as a Master's Degree. I have sent a mail to them from the "contact us" section of the website. Hope they reply.

I have done a 3 year MBA and am also aware of the fact that WES recognizes business studies in India as equivalent to master's degree in canada if it is a three (3) year MBA course.

My ECA clearly does not give any cognizance to Post Graduation Degree / Post Graduation Diploma; and treats it as a Bachelors Degree.

I have raised this issue with WES from the "contact-us" section. Hope they understand that I have a valid point.

Hey Guys,

I did my PGPM (Finance) from SPJIMR and I got following result.

Canadian Equivalency: One year of post-secondary study at non-recognized institution.

Moreover, I got the information from SPJIMR that - AICTE has approved the PGPM Programme, under the nomenclature 'PGDM (Executive)'. I also wrote to AMBA, UK and they are ready to issue letter of recognition.

(You can find those AICTE approval letters on SPJIMR website)

While I am pursuing with WES, presently, am I eligible to claim for - "Two or more post-secondary program credentials AND at least one of these credentials was issued on completion of a post-secondary program of three years or longer"?

Please also share if someone could succeed getting PGPM recognized through WES.

Not sure why they did this for SP JAIN, I am from IMI New Delhi and I didn't have to share anything extra, they recognized the degree. Providing AIU and AICTE would help.

I want to share my experience with WES regarding the evaluation of my PGDM degree.

My initial ECA report released on 6th September read:

The repercussion - Lost 33 points on CRS.

On 7th September, I wrote to them mentioning that my institution is recognised by AICTE and also presented the link to check it.

On 16th September, received a specific reply from WES - Institution recognition is not important. It is the program that needs to be recognised. If I wish, my institution could submit documentary proof and they would consider re evaluating.

On 18th September, I submitted - Bonafide letter from college + Letter from AICTE mentioning the Reference ID for the institution and program in a sealed envelope.

On 20th September, it was received at wes and file went into review.

On 4th October, they replied that it is not recognised and the report stays as it is (It is an automated message with one or two sentences added).

On 5th October - I wrote to them (a little bluntly) asking what exactly do they want. I had submitted everything possible.

Lull period till 2nd Nov (with no response)

On 3rd November, received a mail stating my evaluation is complete on 6th September. I thought this meant PERIOD, we are not going to entertain more requests from you.
However, out of curiosity, went to recheck my ECA report and noticed the following:

This means I can now claim for 2 or more post secondary degrees.

WHy I posted this is - Please do not lose hope by one or two negative responses from them. I know they take ages to respond. But please do take it up sincerely and persistently if you have enough proof and can provide the status of your institution. It took 2 whole months for me.
