HELP! Forgot to include form in application

We forgot to send in the document check list with out application on Tuesday. We had everything else, including medical and FBI check completed. Ugh! Should we send in the checklist or will they just return our application in the next few days? I'm so frustrated right now!

I think you have to wait for your file number... you'd never want to send your application without a file number. it might be use to remove a cat poop

No one can tell you for sure what will happen since it depends on the office that will handle your package.
They can return your app or ask for the missing form.

Your application will very likely be returned...but not in the next few days...or even weeks.

Once CIC receives your application, it sits in a pile until someone is able to open it and do a basic, cursory `glance' over it to ensure that all required forms have been included and that all required signatures are in place. Once that has been completed, they send the AOR (Acknowledgement of Receipt) email, which says that your application was `oficially' received on [date]. This date will be the day that it was delivered to CIC, which will match your delivery confirmation/tracking information, usually.

The problem is two fold...the first, is that it takes CIC a month (or more) before they do this quick glance. Once they do return your application to you, it will also be possible that one or more forms have been updated. You would NOT want to send back the old application package without first verifying that none of the forms (including the Document Checklist) has been updated by CIC. Simply check their website the day that your package is returned.

The second, is that some people never receive their AOR.

If you haven't heard anything by early November, you might want to call them (ug!) and see if they can find your application.

Yes - but you will have to gather all the documents again, including the FBI, wich is taking 3 months (?).

Actually, submitting a new application will be easier because we have copies of everything and I can print off the pictures again with no problem. I have my FBI check and will send in a copy and will include a paper explaining I have requested a new FBI check and that I will forward that as soon as I get it.

There's probably a chance, albeit small, that the person that checks your application will simply ask you to provide the Document Checklist, since it really isn't a critical piece of the puzzle. IMHO, sending in a whole new `everything' will add even more stress to your already full plate.

Also, make sure that you write N/A on any line item on the DC that doesn't pertain to you. If you leave the box unchecked, and some junior staff member at CIC sees the form, s/he may `think' that you missed that item. The junior staff numbers are apparently quite high now.

Thanks Ponga! We've decided to wait and see if they send back the application or send us an email or letter requesting the check list. Maybe, if we are lucky (super lucky), they will process the application without the checklist (wishful thinking I know lol). I'm going to go ahead and do the FBI fingerprints again now just in case they send the application back in a month or so. That way, we will have that processing just in case.
