Dear Friends,

We are a family of 5 ...just thinking of looking for an accommodation at Kennedy & Brichmount,Eglinton & Bircmount and Eglinton & Kennedy Intersections. Will be glad to connect with Desis in that locality and to know more about the locality in terms of schooling, safety and Grocery shopping day to day.
How can I get an apartment within first week of landing,as Cargo will come after my arrival there in the month of May 2014.If anyone residing in the above mentioned area,if don't mind please contact me so that I can take their help and support in grabing 2 bedrooms flat.(No relative or friend in Canada :()
Apt.should be close to the subway line as I might not be driving and buying car immediately.
Can we lease an apt. for 6 months?
Any factory jobs in Scarborough?and wages per hour?because need to fetch an odd job immediately after landing.
Appreciate feedback and comments....

Please advise if anyone can help this....
Thanks

Check kijiji.ca for rentals.......you will have to contact/arrange with the landlord about your needs/situation, etc.

I think there is also airbnb.ca for short term rentals......google should help.

Viewit.ca for apartment rentals in apartment buildings, check them out for price, amenities, etc.

Also these, I know someone posted these before on the forum:

There are lot of Factory jobs in Missisauga /Etobicoke,then why you are interested in Scarborough. In Missisauga/Etobicoke the rental is more or less same like Scarborough. As a area scarborough is not good in all terms. You will get minimum pay in Factories @10.25/HOUR,sometimes more than that.Subway will help you to go to downtown mainly. You need TTC pass to go to Factories or pick and drop facilities, some of the agent gives normally .I know some of them .They normally provide light/easy factory jobs. You will get basement house -2 bhk @ affordable rate may be around-850-900CADin Etobicoke/Missisauga area.

It will cost more for transit in Mississauga, as miss. transit is not as frequent as Toronto.

Toronto transit(TTC) has more frequent service both buses and subways, and its cheaper than living in Mississauga.

I would recommend Toronto for those who will not have access to a car specially in the first year or so
