Dear khan it's all depends upon Luck, hard work, strategy , but don't worry about your RIZQ god is giving it to every one & any where, if I summaries calgary In one sentence I would say " easy to get starting job but really really cold winter"
Good to know that so many are ready to assist/guide. I also plan to come to either Calgary or Saskatoon.

Oh thanks! I was thinking it as 'basement' ;D.....so then the next obvious question would be why it is comparatively cheap
any thoughts on that..

Basement is a better choice as its rent is cheap and their is no suffocation in basement as the basements are on ground floor not as our .

I don't know about this but basement is best for the new immigrants as a 2 bedroom basement rent is near 700 to 800 with all utilities inluding on the other hand appartment have higher rents like 1000 to 1200 with no utilites thats why i suggest you to live in a basement .

Hello All,

I have benefited a lot from this forum. I moved to Calgary 3months ago. Though I haven't settled fully but staying comfortably with family. Willing to help new immigrants who are planning to come to Calgary and don't have anybody here.

Hi! I am a new member in this forum. My family and I will land in Alberta in December. I am quite scared actually...I have no relatives and no friends anywhere in canada. It's like jumping into the unknown.

I am looking for an affordable 1 BR apartment/ basement. I don't know the usual cost of rental in Calgary...can you pls fill me in?

I am also starting to look at the job bank...

Good to know there are people like you...

Thank you.
