So my friend husband applied for a visa from his home country however he forgot to mention his visa refusal so the cic officer sent him a letter asking him to explain why he choose no.A letter was sent the following week explaining that it was a over sight and it wasn’t his intention not to declare it in the form but now my friend is worried that her husband may get a 5 year ban because of an honest mistake and might I add that he had gotten a us visa and a Austrian visa before and had included the refusal when they ask during the visa but just completely forgot to mention it in his Canadian visa.My friend had since sent a letter emplaining and pleading that it was not intention it’s been 11 months since submitting the application and no response does any senior member know of anyone in this situation help!!

You can try ordering GCMS notes to see if those indicate the status of the application and if a five year ban has been applied.
