Dear All,

I am preparing my citizenship application that I will submit around the mid of July , I have the following inquires regard filling the form :

1) Section 6.E : Addresses in the past 4 years. During the past four years I lived in Jordan and Saudi Arabia where NO postal codes are used there. and the CIC asked to include all postal codes in Canada and abroad.Should I leave it empty for the abroad addresses.

Also, during the 4 years I reside many times in hotels (right after landing ). Should I include these addresses.

2)Section 6.F : Education & Work History . During the last 4 years (right before lading) I worked as an engineering in Saudi Arabia , I do not have any employment / experience letter from my employer there,Also I tried to contact the company and the refused to provide me with any letters or documents (this is common with companies in Saudi Arabia ). The CIC ask to provide employment evidences for each job/company I worked for during the last for years . Does any one have any recommendation ?

Thank you all.
Regards.

1. Do NOT leave anything empty. Input "N/A" instead and briefly explain in a cover letter that Saudi Arabia has no postal codes. Regarding hotel addresses, where was your mail being forwarded at that time? Say you were staying at Hilton for three weeks -- during those three weeks, where was home? That's the address you should put.

2. This is hard. I'd still use the cover letter to explain this cultural oddity and include the employer contact info on the cover letter. But what they need in the application is your experience in the past 4 years in Canada (if any). If you don't have experience working or in education, then what did you do in Canada? That's highly begging an RQ + non-routine route.

Dear Empirical-Scientist,

Regard the employment letter from Saudi Arabia, I have many non-continuous employments (part time) since I landed in Jun/2011 , Also I have (full time student) completed a masters degree in engineering form Dalhousie University (Halifax). I have an idea of translating the work permit (stamped on my passport) issued to me for Saudi Arabia (the visa shows the employer name ....) and also I will translate the Final Exit Stamp (shows the final leaving date from the country) and then attached these translations to a cover letter states the situation. Do you think this is a good idea ?

Thanks.

These supporting documents will help clarify the situation, I believe, but make sure you write a brief note on your cover letter mentioning why you've included those documents -- the CIC agents will be confused to see a work permit otherwise... Also, the issuance of work permits does not prove that you worked -- do you have any pay stubs or similar documents?

Actually I do not have any pay slips , my bank account there is closes since three years (since I landed here). Also, I never thought that CIC will ask for any employment before landing date if you notice these requirement are been issues in May,2014 , when they changed the forms...
But I think they will not consider it a major document , I will translate what I have and clarify the situation with a cover letter !

They don't actually ask you to submit proof of employment/education for pre-PR time, but for the last 4 years from the date you intend to sign your applications. If you intend to sign July 2, 2014, then you need to specify work+education since July 2, 2010.

Hi ,

I believe we are in the same boat . My husband faces the same issue , before landing in Canada , he was working in KSA .All his employment . related docs were already submitted to CIC for the PR application process . However ,we do have his cancelled Iqama . Now I am thinking of getting it translated and attaching it with the application. However, fortunately we have got his full time employment records in Canada for the last three years.

Please do keep us posted about the progress of your case as it will be helpful for many future applicants like us.

Thanks and good luck!

I am not sure how CIC verifies claims of work in foreign soil unless you provide proof.

I am not sure bro ! Weather or not I should ignore any work records pre-landing but during the last four years.
Will CIC return the application?
Have read any bulletin or manual shows any clarifications ?

Thanks

Dear Scientist,

Last year, I went to another country for a scientific conference of my work and I stayed there for a month, should I put the hotel address on the section 6.E ? Thanks

You should put your residence address in Canada. You went for a conference (one month conference?!), but your mail was being sent to your address in Canada (I suppose), not to your hotel... That;s it. Don't complicate things.

Thanks for your reply, one week conference and I stayed there another 3 weeks for vacation. Yes, you're right, my mail address is the same as home address (in Canada). So I need only put this address on the section 6.E, nothing else ?

Hi friends,

I have two questions so I can complete my application

1.Is T4 good enough for employment record?

2. 6.F work and education history,, I do have a gap between the time I graduated and the time O found a job, so application stated you have to say why? Well because I was looking for a job!!!! How should I say it and where should I write it?

Thanks xox
