Hi,

I was given a Exclusion order back in 2019 when i went to my Immigration and Refugee Board hearing. I am no longer willing to put up with this process so i put in a application to renounce my permanent residency and it was approved back in October 2019. I was given a 6 month temporary residency which ends in April 2020. I went to my interview recently for my pre removal risk assessment which i declined to go ahead with as i am willing to leave and purchase my own ticket. The officer stated to me that i am being deported and must let the airline know i am being deported so they can make the necessary arrangements. My question is, if i am leaving before my temporary residency ends and i am leaving voluntary, why must i book my flight and go from canada as if i was issued a deportation order? My passport was also seized which i assume is common practice.

I was not given a date to leave with my exclusion order as i applied to renounce my residency a few days later after the hearing so the renouncification of permanent residency is the only letter which stated how much time i have left in Canada.

Can someone help explain this to me? If you have a exclusion order and you are leaving, are you classed as being 'deported' when you are purchasing your own flight and leaving before your temporary residence status ends? Must state 'DEPU' on flight with accordance IATA regulations

Thanks
