Hello

I recently received my ITA from BC PNP. I'm now completing my documents and I found out that my employer hasn't settled its 2018 and 2019 taxes. I'd like to ask if this will affect my application?

Thank you!

No, this shouldn't affect you. You paid all your taxes, right? You can't really be held responsible for the actions of your employer.

Thank you for your reply. I'm still outside Canada..and I have received ITA for BC PNP tech pilot.

I I received a job offer from a Canadian employer but now that I asked for my employer's business license as part of the requirements, he mentioned that they haven't paid their 2018 and 2019 business taxes.

I'm very nervous that I might miss this opportunity since I'm already so close to a PNP nomination...

I'm not very familiar with the requirement of the tech pilot, so I can't be absolutely certain - but my initial impressions based on reading a little bit is that this could make a difference. The eligibility requirements don't mention that your employer must have paid all their taxes, but the general employer requirements listed here - https://www.welcomebc.ca/getmedia/1...n-and-Express-Entry-BC-Program-Guide.pdf.aspx

state that the employer must

"have a history of good workplace and business practices.

Your employer must be financially sound and have a history of good workplace and business practices, including complying with all applicable B.C. and federal employment, labour, immigration, health and safety laws and regulations. Your employer may be asked to provide financial statements prepared by a certified professional accountant."

I'm not sure whether not paying taxes means that your employer isn't complying with B.C/Federal law.

Perhaps someone with more knowledge can help.

This is helpful. Thank you!

Thank you..just found out that my employer doesn't have a business license, only cert of incorporation. I don't know what to do...
So? They are incorporated, that's the minimum requirement...

You need a valid business license to run a business in bc . You cannot apply application without business license.

In that case I stand corrected! Apparently this person's employer isn't running a valid business..

I live in Ontario so I'm not very familiar with the rules in BC. Thanks for correcting me.
