Thanks for your support. I was worried because I received an order/summon (Provincial Offences Procedures Act ) to appear to provincial court to respond to accusation from former tenant to fail to restitute the deposit ....
I was afraid, but do not think it is a criminal offence (criminal Code), right?

Are you asking people if you've committed a criminal offense? You know what you did; you should have some idea of provincial legislation; you should have an idea of what the possible outcomes of your hearing can be. If you don't, ask a lawyer, vague reassurance from an Internet forum means nothing.

It's not criminal, it's civil dispute because it's between the tenant and the organization/person that provides the tenancy.

If you don't know the difference between the criminal and civil law, you should voluntarily rescind your citizenship certificate.

I know the difference (there is no criminal record in cas of infraction to provincial law) but it is still a legal procedure, which explain why I am woried

Yes, I hate it when criticism gets confused . . . I think you misread my post -- I was simply recommending that Flocan not rely on Internet forums for legal advice. I do know that in general a landlord-tenant dispute is a civil matter, but I am also sure that there are situations when it could fall under criminal law as well. Since Flocan didn't give any details for estimating this, it's impossible to know. It's not a matter of 'compassion', and I'm not sure why I should feel compassionate for him anyway, though he seems to want me to.

Yes, of course, and no, it won't. Too many issues are created when people try to micromanage their interactions with the government (see the recent thread of a family sponsorship that's on hold for two years because the husband lied needlessly about a prior visa refusal). Things are what they are, tell the truth and see what happens. Canada is by and large a reasonable country.

Do you have a lawyer? Or are your going to represent yourself? I think like others have said, it's best to confirm this answer with a lawyer who will certainly know more. This will settle the issue once and for all.
