Help!! CIC doesnt' find my application on the system!!!

Hello, new to the comunity so I thank everyone that reads beforehand :)
To start with, this is about a open working permit that was sent in the Same envelope that an sponsorship. My husband is sponsoring me and we sent both applications mid September 2016. in the end of october we got the letter of reception of the sponsorship (and at that point i thought it also ment that they recieved the working permit application, as they were in the same envelope) fast-forward 4 months and 2 weeks: I call service canada and they say they can't find it in the system. They tried with my UCI number and with the number of the receipt of payment of the permit. Nothing. So even if 2 weeks is not too long to be worried. I find it super strange that it doesn't even appear in the system.... and if i should have gotten a letter of reception (sorry i dont remember the right term for that letter) or if it's "normal" that i haven't recieved it and that is not at all in the system.
And what happens if they really lost it?
Service canada sent an mail to Mississauga (the sponsorship is for quebec) and they want me to wait another month to call again... and this wouldnt worry me if at least i knew the application is on the system and if i had the number they give you so i can check the status online... But i dont...
Any advice will be appreciated!!! Thanks
(if i'm in the wrong subforum let me know, thanks!)

You paid the fee upfront, right? You can start by sending in a case-specific enquiry with your receipt attached. Have you tried linking online with your UCI or application number?

I'd contact CIC or your MP. They lost my work permit first time, I got a reply 9 months later I was supposed to. That's why I was out of the status when we applied family sponsorship. IMHO, I'd either find out where my application is or file new one, instead of like me waiting almost a year for nothing.

Yeah we payed upfront both applications (like 15 mins one after the other).
And yeah I tried linking the application with the UCI number and it says is not there... I couldn't try with the application number because, as i said before i dont have it. I haven't recieved any mail at all with any information about the WP :(

Yeah I called the phone number on the CIC website and the only thing they did was sending an email to Mississauga. They want me to wait another month to hear news from Mississauga, but I would love to know as soon as possible what's going on. If they lost it or not.
And if they lost it, do i need to pay again?

Contact MP asap. They will help to find out where your application is. Mine was lost, call centre was busy constantly and didn't even answer the phone, mp office found my application in 4 hours. And then they'll tell you what to do, keep receipts for sure you might be able to use them again

Member of Parliament. Find online who is MP from your town and call or email them, you will talk to someone from his (her) office, they usually have a specific person who is dealing with immigration (at least ours does).
As for me, I emailed them, they got back to me in 3 days, then with different question my husband called them, they returned the call with all the info in couple of hours

here is the link to find your MP: http://www.parl.gc.ca/Default.aspx?Language=E
Using your postal code, you will find the name. Then click on the name to get all coordinates to join your MP.

Ah yes we did that already. We had the meeting on Monday and yesterday we sent a copy of the reciept of the working permit because he called and they couldn't find it with my UCI number... So now we are waiting to see if they can find it with the receipt number.
Hope there's still a chance they find it. But i'm going to find out what i'm supposed to do if they lost it... 1st how can i complain, 2nd if i have to pay again 3rd if i need to wait 4 months again.... so many things...
Thanks a lot for the advice!! i'll post an update once i talk to the MP again.

Update: so the MP told us that he gave the receipt number to mississauga and they said that they did recieve the application but that they don't know what happened to it, that usually as soon as they arrived they have to be uploaded to the system, so they have no idea why it hasn't been uploaded.... The MP did a petition and the mississauga office has to give us an answer in 10 working days.

This is amazing, seriously. At least they admit they recieved it and that someone obviously did bad their job. Now I hope that if they can't find it at all, that they give us the oportunity to send another application without charge.

I have another question regarding what would happen if they find it also decide it's denied. As I was on statut implicit i know i need to leave the country. But how many days do i have?

Thanks for the advice!

Good to know that they managed to find it. As I said that happened to me too and I'm genuinely happy for you.
As far as I know you were on implied status, but because you're married to a Canadian PR or Citizen you wouldn't have to leave Canada, you'd be fine staying within the country until your sponsorship application is finalized.
