Help !!! can i go 3 months before classes start

got my passport today with visa stamped from CHC chandigarh thank you everyone for helping me out

I want to go as soon as possible.Tickets are available for this sunday. But have some doubts. I will be very grateful if anybody can help me out regarding these doubts

1) Is it safe to go 3 months before starting of classes.(Can I be questioned about this by the immigration department)

2)Is it necessary to land in the place where i have to study (Toronto in my case) or can i straight away land in some other state and return to Toronto at the start of my course.

3) Can i travel to some other state for the time being.

I am going to Sheridan for Graduate Certificate in Environmental Control january 2013

1) Yes you can be asked........ why so early.
2) Can land any where

1. why early? so much money to burn? or do you have a plan of working under the table? Be sure, they have covered it all.

yes you can go brother... any time any place in canada aftr getting visaa...no issue..dun wryy..
bt make sure uh have enough money to bear the living expense of canada

at least wait for novembr, they can ask you about your three months plan, if you are going then carry more money with you...
i have also got visa 3 months early, at 25 septmbr, but m going at 14 novembr....

Last year there was someone on this forum who had a study permit and was refused entry into Canada because he came too early and immigration thought he was planning on working illegally. They told him to come back closer to the start of his classes.

So yes - there's certainly a chance you could be refused entry.

You do realize that you have not been issued your study permit yet, it is just a letter of introduction. You will be issued your study permit by the immigration officer at the airport once they are satisfied. They probably will question you about your unusual time of arrival. So who knows it might be a problem or it might not. All i can say is that I certainly would not take the risk.

thank you all for your replies and accept my apologies for replying so late
I am still in India and will be going this tuesday now.

The reason for such haste is that applied to University of Toronto for my MASc in fall 2012 but the professor who agreed to take me as her research assistant asked me to do this course at sheridan in order to comply with the course of study to be taken at the masters level, as i have a different background in my undergrads and then start for my MASc in fall 2013.She interviewed me on skype and we have been in touch in ever since.

So, I just want to go in advance and meet up with the professor and arrange for any further requirements as she will be leaving for China in first week of November for some official work for around a year. I do not want to miss this chance.

If I am asked for my unusual time of arrival, what should be my answer?
I will be glad if someone can help me out.
