Help April 2010 ! anyone else in the same situation?

I mailed my application in April 2010 to Mississauga.

I received only a receipt in the mail #C123456789 (its Cwith 9 numbers following it) its been almost 3 months. no updated info. whenever we call they say call again in a couple weeks.

I applied outside Canada Buffalo office. mailed first step to Mississauga

What client ID number does everyone use? And how did you get a client ID number?

We are still waiting for the AOR first step approval. I thought it takes only 1 or 2 months

The receipt that you mentioned...what was it for?
Your client id comes on the sponsorship approval letter and is sent to the sponsor. What address (country) did you list for the sponsor? Since you mailed in April you are still within current normal processing times. I wouldn't worry just yet.

So you haven't gotten the sponsorship approval yet? Can you log into ECAS?

I can not log onto Ecas.

My husband was born in Canada and I was born in America. We have not received any AOR as of yet and they have no info for us whenever we call

The receipt was just for the payment we mailed to CIC mississauga. The address for the sponsor is Canada.

I used my receipt number and it began with an "R".

You use your recipt number but the info you put in under it will be the sponsors info.When you get the aproval to sponsor letter it will include your client number where to log in you will still use the sponsors info.Then when you get your B number from the Visa office you can use that if you like but the info entered will be the sponsored(applicant)s info.

yes the receipt number i put my husbands info but no information comes up it says it has no updates pretty much and list reasons. but its annoying because EVERYONE as i can see has updates besides me!

I went through Buffalo as well. I could not get access to any info on ecas either until I had the client id on the sponsorship letter. If you can log on with the receipt number and nothing is there, the most likely reason is that they haven't opened your file yet.
Just so you know, once I was able to log on it never said anything besides "In process" even AFTER I got my PPR. So I wouldn't hold out a much hope that you will learn a lot from e-cas.

thanks but the only thing is its almost 3 months and no letter for the first stage! the AOR

Both of us had a well put application too
