Help! Appying BOWP 2-day before PGWP expiry?

Hello folks,

question on those who have applied or soon will be applying for BOWP in a very urgent manner.

My current PGWP is expiring on Sunday, August 11th yet I have not received the AOR.
I've sent CEC application on June 26th
CIO received my file on the 27th

As I was very anxious about the possibility of not getting my AOR email by the 11th and lose my status, I have found a few cases where the applicants still sent their BOWP even before they received AORs due to the similar situation as mine. Thus, I am planning to go through the same route.

My question here is that is it okay if I send in my BOWP on August 8 or 9th and send it via snail mail (just to give a plenty of time for CIC to open my BOWP application and hoping there will be my AOR by that time)? The office will probably receive my mail after my PGWP expires.

However, my understanding is that as long as I have sent my application & dated before the expiry of my current WP, I will obtain an implied status to keep me working in Canada.

Please correct me if I am wrong and if I should send the BOWP application to arrive before the expiry date of current WP.

I just want to wait as much as I can to see if I will be getting my AOR and do BOWP process in a normal way instead of risking my life on the explanation letter and the generosity of the agent who will be reviewing my letter & docs.

I don't know much about BOWP but I am pretty sure that It doesn't matter what date you sign the forms and how you send it. What matters is that when CIC receives your BOWP application. So if they receive it after 11th....It could be a problem for you in the future....

What matters is the date CIC get it not the date you sign it or send it. So pl make sure to send it by express post and that they get it by 10 August

I would recommend that you send it so they receive it before your current PGWP expires. You can always indicate something to the effect of "Applied for CEC. Intending to stay in Canada while the application is in process. Please issue BOWP." Indicate your Client ID; they can track your application through this. By the time they get to your file, you would have received an AOR, and they would be able to see it in the system as well.

Thank you lithium002. Yes, I am going to be writing a detailed but concise letter regarding my situation. Hopefully AOR will be there by that time!

Thank you all for your help! I have sent the BOWP application on Tuesday, Aug 6th and it will be arriving in Vegreville this afternoon (confirmed by Canada Post call agent).
