Help- apply for BOWP online

Seniors,

My post graduation work permit expires soon and my Cec app is still in process. I tried to apply for the BOWP online but it asked for reference code which is given when using the online wizard on cic site. I put in all the info including my Cec app was approved first stage with an AOR. Then it said I'm not eligible to extend my work permit coz I don't have a LMIA.

Can I get some help? I thought BOWP doesn't need LMIA.

Can you please help me with the steps how to apply online for BOWP? Right after I fill the questionnaire about eligibility it takes me right to creating an express entry profile. I went through "apply for work/visa/study permit online" tab and filled that questionnaire. Please help!

I am in the same boat. The wizard really sucks!

After answering it all, it says i have to include a travel itinerary. I thought for Bridging permit, it is to wait for PR to be processed, so why do i need to provide my travel itinerary. Did anyone have that problem?

I have the same problem with the travel itinerary so I called CIC today and they said you can only apply for a BOWP in paper and not online...

thats weird. It didnt ask me for any travel itinerary and i just did it couple minutes ago. I wish i could help but i don't know how. It's like 50 questions and one can lead to another if you answer it differently.

I've been informed by two different CIC call centre people that you cannot apply for BOWP online. Does anyone know if this is total BS as I understand some people have applied online and have gotten their work permit.

Hi, I just got off the phone with CIC call center and had the most shocking conversation. The guy actually strongly advised me not to apply online, as he thinks CIC may reject it as online process "may not ask for all the required documents". To that, I told him that last year I applied for it online and it went through smoothly. He said he was surprised to hear it, but he still suggests that I do not apply online.
I then asked him if he can email me a link of where this is recommendation is made, so that I can show it to anyone who asks. So he put me on hold for 5 mins, and then he says "it's more of an internal checklist that we have which says what should not be applied online." Then I asked him if he can send me an email quoting the recommendation not to apply online. To that he says that he cannot 'modify' emails and hence cannot send it. I did not really buy that reason but I did not push it. At the end he again said to me that your online BOWP may get rejected for this reason and you may have to re-apply by paying the money all over again.

I kinda took it as a very polite scare tactic / threat.

And now, I am totally stumped at what to do. Any suggestions, folks?
