Hi Everyone,
I find this forum helpful and informative. Please kindly advice on this situation.
So I arrived Canada as an intl student 2008, completed 1yr pre-university program then finished my 4yr university degree 2013. I received my Post Grad work permit 2013 too. I got married that year 2013 and had a baby 2014. My husband recently got his PR and that automatically made my child Canadian. After so much struggle getting good health care(after UHip expired, I wasnt able to get private insurance since it was a pre-existing condition). I got lucky and found a midwife clinic that helped from getting resources from Community health centers that covered my labs, ultrasound and even getting canadian rate for hosiptal stay.
After the birth of my child, I made my mind to look for work after 1year. So here's the options I have:
1. As a uni graduate, CEC program is my best option...however, lost one year taking care of my child. My PGWP expires May 2016. Still lookinf for job that will qualify under the required NOC code. Most jobs out there are contract or temporary

2. Husband can sponsor me but it will take another 2-3yrs to wait since he just got it

3. We thought about Humanitarian & Compansionate PR but I have no idea how long that will take. ..seems long too

4. Get masters degree after work permit expires...but this still boils down to the long wait..

What other options do I have? How can I get my PR b4 next year 2016...cant leace my family here.

THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!

As mentioned in your other thread, you need to tell us when your husband became a PR.

FYI - your child is a Canadian citizen because your child was born in Canada - not because your husband has PR.

How did your husband get his PR, and specifically did he get his PR before or after you got married in 2013?

He got it January 2013 that year...before I got married (marriage was done later in the year)

Then the best option would be for him to sponsor you for PR immediately. He could have sponsored you as soon as the two of you got married.

Need to also ask, did you and your spouse live together for 12 months at any time before he got PR in January 2013??

In that case you have no problem. As Scylla said, he can apply for your PR under family class at anytime. You should have started sponsorship back in 2013 after you got married as you would probably already be PR by now.

If you apply family class INLAND you will wait approx 2+ years to get PR, but will get an Open Work Permit after around 4+ months that you can use for duration of PR processing. Of course you just shouldn't leave Canada for 2+ years in this case.

If you apply family class OUTLAND you can continue to stay and work in Canada under your PGWP until it expires. Processing time will depend on what outland visa office is used. Seeing as you have legal status in Canada for over 1 year and have been here for so long already, there's a good chance your outland application would be processed in CPC-Ottawa in which case it could take less than 1 year to complete, before your PGWP expires.
