Hello everyone,
I just got an e-mail from the Canadian embassy in Cairo, it’s summary that the visa officer believes that our marriage is marriage of convenience. Stating that he considered 5 factors that led him to his conclusion:
1.Age gap of 24 years
2.Wedding attendance of only 7 persons and that it is unusual for the Egyptian culture
3.Cultural background that my wife is a western citizen who been through different life experience and that what is normal for Egyptian culture for a guy is to marry a younger virgin girl and have kids with
4.Religious background, he said that he believes that my wife converted to my religion only for marriage accommodation
5.the reluctantance to disclose the marriage to extended family and friends and Egyptians are eager to show their status to friends and relatives
And they asked me to submit additional documentation regarding these factors within 30 days or they will just make a decision based on what they have which will likely lead to refusal
I already provided so much proof during the interview (over 300 pics of me, my wife and family since 2012, plane tickets and visas for four trips back and forth from Egypt staying in Egypt for an over all period of 2 years since 2012, chat logs between my wife and my wife’s side of the family from 2011, letters from my parents, my wife’s mom and friend stating their approval and blessings to our marriage) it was two back bags full of files.
We didn’t have a wedding reception because we wanted to save the money for the immigration process and a wedding wasn’t necessary for my wife so we had a small celebration at my parents place with them and my siblings attending. I didn’t include pictures with my extended family and friends because im not close to my aunts and uncles and I don’t have friends close enough to socialize with my wife ….
I don’t know what other documentation should I send them or how to send them by e-mail or via courier to their address….
Can anyone please suggest what should we be doing. Thank you very much in advance.
