Hi there,

My process of Permanent Residence is now at the stage where I have to to pay Right of Permanent Residence Fee.

I lived in Canada for 18 months. When I submitted my application to Detroit I was living in Canada. After 6 months of that I moved back to my home country (Ecuador).

I am now in Ecuador and my question is: could I pay this RPRF fee at a bank in Ecuador? and what form of payment is the right one from here? Of course I will make it payable to the "Canadian Consulate General", but from Ecuador.

Anybody can help me with this?

It should be in the form of DEMAND DRAFT and can be from any institution

Hi

I have looked at the Detroit office website to see what forms of payment they accept, may be you should have a look yourself:
http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/buffalo/imm/fees-frais_detroit.aspx?lang=eng

Anyway, I am pasting the information they have on that page:

Paying Fees in Detroit

ALL FEES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT NOTICE.

Your completed application must be accompanied by the appropriate processing fee before processing can begin. Except for the Right of Permanent Residence Fee, all other fees are non-refundable if your application is not approved.

ONLY THE FOLLOWING FORMS OF PAYMENT ARE ACCEPTABLE:

EXACT CASH (if paying in person -- 8:30 to 11:00 a.m. ONLY)
MONEY ORDER
BANK DRAFT
CASHIER'S CHEQUE
If paying in U.S. funds, make your money order, bank draft or cashier's cheque payable to: CANADIAN CONSULATE GENERAL. Payment in U.S funds must be drawn on a bank located in the United States or the United State Postal Service.

If paying in Canadian funds, make your money order, bank draft or cashier's cheque payable to: RECEIVER GENERAL FOR CANADA - DETROIT. Payment in Canadian funds must be drawn on a bank located in the Canada or the Canadian Postal Service.

Thanks for the replies!

What if I send it as money order through Western Union? Would that be a valid option?

Yes, check the website: westernunion.com

They have a section named BILL PAY & MONEY ORDERS.

What do you think? Would that be possible to my need?
