First hello :)

It has been two years now sponsoring my wife via an immigration lawyer. 9 months back we have received a letter claiming our marriage isn't genuine (wife proof of identity) and they gave us a month to correct that. So we have accomplished that and we sent all the documents required. It had been 9 months since and I'm not sure if there was no response because our immigration lawyer isn't notifying us of anything.

So I decided to check the status of my wife application online and this is what I saw:

Sponsored application status: Decision made. When I click it it shows:

1. We received your application to sponsor (my wife) on December 8, 2012
2. We started processing your application on March 2, 2015
3. We sent you correspondence on March 2, 2015 about the decision on your application (the letter they sent us that they think our marriage not genuine and asked for more proof )

Now on the: Permanant resident application status: it shows "in process" when I click it:

1. Same as sponsored application status
2. Same as sponsored application status
3. Medical results have been received

I am confused guys, any clarification from you would be much appreciated.

Talk to your lawyer. It sounds like they made a decision and sent you the letter telling you the decision, but you didn't get it. If your lawyer did, he or she should have of course told you about it. If it turns out that the lawyer got the letter, but forget to tell you, you should file a complaint about him to the Law Society of the province you are in.

You could also order your GCMS notes. They will tell you what the decision was, and what problems there were.
There is a webpage telling you how to order them here:

Thanks Canadianwoman for the reply,

My lawyers have informed me about the the letter that they have received 9 months ago. My spouse was not denied entry rather they were skeptical of her identity (birthdate certificate date were different than that on her passport and marriage certificate) we have corrected those in front of a lawyer and sent the documents back but no response from them till now.

Now I have checked the application status using my wife credentials. There are no mentions of sponsored application status but only the permanent resident status which shows "in process" and that medical have been received. I hope am clear enough and easy to understand. Thanks a bunch for taking the time.

They might still be processing the application. Background checks will take longer when there is a question about identity. If you haven't done so yet, ordering your GCMS notes will tell you what they problem is.

Alright will do so. But is it possible I order them myself or would that have to be my lawyer?

You can, but you will need your wife's permission. Your lawyer also could do it, since he must be you and your wife's representative.

O Canadianwoman, I mixed things up it seems.

The sponsorship status seem it was the approval letter that I'm eligible to sponsor, which was sent to me on March 2, 2015. They have sent my lawyer a letter in December 2015, saying they were assessing her PR application and gave us 30 days to submit proof of her identity and that our marriage is genuine. And they have said they will give it final assessment in 30 days after they receive it, which I think that assessment ended February 15, 2016.

I guess that explain, the medical have been received line in my wife permanent resident status (ecas)

Because it had been 7 month, do you think am making sense of this?

Maybe, but that would mean that they have made a decision, which you have not yet received. The lawyer should be asking about this. Getting your GCMS notes will also show you what the decision was.

Right of Permanent Residence is basically the last step. Sounds like they might be planning to grant her PR.

Hi, they requested for a remedical and asked for a right of permanent resident to be paid, so I'm not understanding your point.
