I have a story here about my friend and need your advise so I could Help him.
Long story Short:
My friend was on open work permit. Then it was about to expire, in a mean time he was waiting for His skilled worker LMO, so He applied for tourist visa. When he received his LMO He headed to Montana USA made a U turn and officer asked to check his cell phone and he found some text's about work and pay. Like Hey come pick up your money and stuff like that. While he was waiting for LMO company didn't let him work so he was doing work for cash. So that's what an officer found. So he Said you have a week to leave canada and you can try to come back after 6 months. And he took his job offer and LMO papers.

Do you guys have an idea what should he do? Is that LMO that officer took from him is still available or it's dined. It's a skilled worker LMO

1. He worked without authorization. He can't apply for a new work permit until 6 months after he has left Canada. As LMIA are only valid for 6 months, he is out of luck.

No - the LMO will have expired by then. He will need a new one.

Definitely a chance since he worked illegally.

But there is no proof of that. An officer just found some text msg about work. I can have on my phone what ever. You have to get someone getting paid in action with all the prooves. Can he Appel it. Wasn't there privacy trespassing?

Immigration officials have the right to look at your phone - no privacy violation or trespassing issue.

The illegal work has already been recorded in CIC's systems. So probably too late to fix this issue. If you want to try to fix it, expect to pay several thousand dollars to engage the help of an experienced immigration lawyer. But there may be nothing you can do.
