Hi, have a great day everyone!
Could anybody share ideas regarding my problem, I'm curently working in Alberta in a small town,Im not happy with my work atmosphere beacuse the store is 4km away from the staff house and theres no transit in town, everytime we ask somebody to give us a ride, sucks!
plus the boss told us shes not responsible for our rides. Bottom line Im so tired of asking and calling everytime we go to work, I dont have relatives here Im a foriegn worker. I decided to quit, and back to Toronto with my cousins for the meantime..My question is Can I stay in Canada since my work visa expires 2014???please help....thanks! :) :)

tell us more about your work permit :)
is it bound to an employer or an open work permit? iec working holiday?
open work permit and iec working holiday allows you to stay, even without an job.
if your work permit is bound to an employer, and you quit, i think you'll have to leave canada.
but you could change your status from worker to visitor and stay in canada, it'd be illegal to work then.

The OP can stay in Canada legally until the validity of the work permit.

If it's tied to an employer, the OP can't work for any other employer using that permit. A new employer has to apply for a LMO and if approved, the OP can apply for a new permit.

If it's an open work permit, the OP can work for anyone and anywhere.

Thank you for the response, regarding my work permit its bound to my employer, its not OP.
But, Ive heard some advise that I can quit & look for new employer, is that work? or if cant find then leave the country prior to the Visa date of expiration.

You may quit your job and look for another employer. But do not begin work for the NEW employer until they apply for and obtain a positive LMO for you and you receive a work permit that is bound to the NEW employer. If you do, it is considered illegal work and can lead to deportation and a 2 year ban from Canada.

If you can't find work then you are expected to leave the country prior to the expiration date of your work permit.
