Background.
Husband birth in Canada.
Me birth in America.
We have two children together who are in process for their proof of citizenship.

IMM 0008 I leave off our kids in the page 2 detail about other family members unless they are Canadian citizens or PRs. Kids would fall under Canadian citizens - just no proof yet.

IMM 1344A - #3 Accompanying children - do we list our kids?
I'm thinking not - because while they are moving with us - they are already 'citizens'

And them IMM5481 #5
where it asks about the undertaking of people.
My spouse, myself, and our two kids (though they are again, Canadians just awaiting proof) = 4?

Thank you! These are the last few questions when hubby went thru them we were debating and CIC's # is busy everytime I've tried today - 7x.

Re: Heatherusa - or anyone- 1344A & 5481

I think I figured out 5481

Dh is 1 (4)
I am 1 (#5a)
Our kids go under 6b - every other family member not included above and dependent on you.

Re: Heatherusa - or anyone- 1344A & 5481

Yes, you leave the children off of IMM0008 because they are already Canadian citizens and, therefore, do not need to be sponsored. Same with IMM1344. As far as IMM5481 - the undertaking: your husband is "1" in Section 4; you are "1" in Section 5(a) and the children are included in 6(b).

Also, you will include the children on your form IMM5406 - Additional Family Information.

I didnt include our daughter on 1344 because of her status by birth. When I read that along with 5481 which asks you to refer back to 1344 for the undertaking, that leads me to believe that it was right not to include her in 1344. The undertaking in 5481 is about anyone I am sponsoring so it was just 1 and 1 which (of course) gives the total of 2.

I cant say 100% that it is right, because we havent heard from Buffalo yet, but it seems to make sense (at least to me).

Are you almost ready to mail it off? Im so excited for you!

Re: Heatherusa - or anyone- 1344A & 5481

Thanks!
I'm glad that our thinking was along the right lines.

I think we are finally ready. I'm just printing off a few last forms, we opted to put N/A in spots that didn't apply and then I missed my a year on one of the form and the house number. Then I need to print our taxes (doing it now) in part in lieu of the option c and our mls listing on our house. Then hubby needs to review the action points.
Then we have to fork over the dough.

Hoping tomorrow to send it out.

Thanks! I thought I had asked you in that email and tha'ts what youd said./agreed but I deleted it... so I wanted to be sure.
It's so different than the US Process. We had to send of myself then too, along with dh the applicant.

Down to just one more thing to print, then sign away our lives and pay the fees. Yipee!
